Double check your camping check list many times before and after your vehicle is loaded, and make sure you pick up additional items needed before you leave town.  Also, be sure to go over the camp check list when you are loading up for the trip home.  This will ensure you that you did not leave any thing behind.

Camping check list

Axe  (single blade wood ax)
Bedding (Air mattress and pump, sleeping bags, pillows, extra blankets )
Chairs:  Folding, light weight, easy storage
Clothing:  Make sure you take extra clothes and shoes in case you run into bad weather.
Cooking Gear:  This is usually a big list.  Make sure you have pots, pans, dishes, utensels and soap, dish towels and etc that you would use at home.  Be sure to bring along extra coolers and ice.
Camp stoves:  If you are bringing along a propane stove, make sure you bring extra propane.
Camp Tables:  Light weight, folding style, approximate size is 30” x 60”.  I found this size to be the best.  I usually take along at least three. (1 for cooking on, 1 for eating my meals, 1 for storage)
First Aid Kit:  This is very essential and is a must.  Make sure your kit has everything that you would think you might need and more.  Its better to be safe than sorry.
Flash light:  Make sure you take along at least three flashlights.  Spare batteries.
Food:  This is a list that has to be prepared by the campers.  Remember, if you plan on being away for 1 week; bring extra food for at least 12 days.  My rule of thumb, if I am going to be away for 5 days, then I will carry 10 days of food.
Knives:  Make sure your knives are sharp, clean and in their own sheaths.
Lanterns:  Bring along at least two lanterns, the more the merrier.  Make sure you have extra mantles and fuel.
Matches:  I prefer stick matches and kept in a dry container.
Personal Items:  I will give you a hint; Toilet Paper, Soap, etc.
Saw:  Two different types:  Wood and Meat
Storage Bags:  you will need 2 types of storage bags.  1 for trash and the other for storage items.
Tent:  make sure you take along extra stakes.
Tools:  Take along a tool kit with basic tools.  Pliers, screwdrivers, electrical tape, wire nuts, sockets, etc
Water:   Always carry more than enough water with you, not only for drinking, making coffee and clean up and etc.,  if a stream in not near by.

Storage Box:  A box that is used to store all of your camping items for the preparing and serving of  all your camp meals.  The storage box is for Camping only.  Your storage box should contain pots and pans, coffee pot, spices, utensils, dishes, silverware, tin foil, plastic wrap, etc.  I use a large plastic container with a waterproof lid for my storage box.  It works great.  Before that, my original storage box was a large wooden box that oranges were packed in for shipping.  Remember to plan your meals.  Always plan for three meals per day while camping.  A  good breakfast to start the day out right.  Light lunch to hold you over.  Supper, a hearty meal.  Snacks, fruit and junk food to munch on during the day and evening.  Popcorn is my favorite snack
